More formally, the "Mid-2010" and "Mid-2012" Quad Core and Eight Core models are intended to use 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC SDRAM (PC3-8500) modules and the Six Core and Twelve Core models are intended to use 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC SDRAM (PC3-10600) modules.
